About Caelivex Orbital Systems

Caelivex Orbital Systems is an early-stage initiative exploring the future of computing infrastructure beyond Earth.

Through the Orbital Compute Initiative, Caelivex is examining the technical, commercial, regulatory, and infrastructure requirements associated with orbital computing systems and their potential role in supporting the rapidly growing demand for data processing capacity.

Our approach begins with feasibility: understanding where orbital computing may offer practical advantages, identifying the engineering and regulatory challenges that must be solved, and evaluating how space-based infrastructure could complement—not simply replicate—traditional terrestrial data centers.

Caelivex is currently in the research and development stage, building the foundation for technical validation, industry collaboration, and future funding opportunities.

The Orbital Compute Initiative has submitted an Expression of Interest to the U.S. Department of Commerce Office of Space Commerce for consideration in the Space Commerce Certification pilot.

Founder, Caelivex Orbital Systems

Caelivex Orbital Systems was founded by Susan Foe, an entrepreneur, author, and researcher with experience in program development, business operations, and evaluating complex projects through the lens of feasibility, infrastructure, community acceptance, and long-term viability.

Her work leading into Caelivex grew from independent research into the increasing challenges surrounding terrestrial data-center development, including power demands, site availability, regulatory complexity, and community resistance.

That research led to a broader question: as terrestrial computing infrastructure becomes more difficult and expensive to expand, what role could orbital computing eventually play?

Caelivex Orbital Systems and the Orbital Compute Initiative were created to explore that question through structured research, technical feasibility analysis, industry collaboration, and regulatory engagement.
